Maram Magdi Mohamed (also known as Maram AlFahmi) is an interactive media artist and interior designer based in California, US. She is interested in exploring the intersection of design and interactive technology, with a keen focus on interior, furniture, and exhibition/museum design. Some of her work discusses themes of emotional color theory, object-oriented ontology, posthuman design, temporal experiences in spaces, digital colonialism and repatriation of artifacts through museography. She is interested in further leveraging the affordances of physical computing, projection mapping, web design and XR design to explore spatial design. She has prior experience in graphics and product design, and enjoys photography as a personal hobby.
Graduating with First Class Honors, Maram earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Bahrain. She was top of her class over the preceding five cohorts and is one of the 74 top achievers among over 11,000 graduates university-wide who were prestigiously awarded by Bahrain’s Minister of Education for their achievements. She earned her MA in Interactive Media Arts from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
